Technology is at the heart of our business. Whether we're pushing the limits of existing technology, or inventing the products and services of tomorrow, we are dedicated to stretching the definition of what's possible.
As the eyes of the world turn to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (February 25-28), Ericsson Research reveals what´s next in key areas.
Jari Arkko, Ericsson Expert in Internet Architecture, will take over the chairmanship of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the organisation has announced. Arkko's two-year term will begin when current chairman Russ Housley steps down in March.
Ericsson and 29 partners launch METIS, a large EU co-funded research project which aims to keep Europe at the forefront of development of the future mobile and wireless system.
Ericsson’s Ulf Ewaldsson, CTO and Head of Group Function Technology, talks about how we are nearing the Networked Society at this year’s Broadband World Forum.
A new network architecture for the internet needs ingredients from three approaches: information- centric networking, cloud computing integrated with networking, and open connectivity. To support these concepts, open connectivity services need to provide advanced transport and networking mechanisms.
In this work we investigate one of the most important practical issues in split architecture deployment, the placement of controllers in a given network. Our simulation results show significant reliability improvements with an intelligent placement strategy. This work is the first attempt to document the resilience properties of a split architecture network.
This paper investigates several network virtualization models for OpenFlow networks. It proposes extensions to the OpenFlow specification for this purpose and presents a model of a full solution that provides stricter isolation between different virtual networks while also providing more flexibility.
This paper describes the design and implementation of an experimental extension of OpenFlow 1.0 to support MPLS. It also describes the implementation of a prototype open-source MPLS label switched router, based on the NetFPGA hardware platform, utilizing OpenFlow MPLS.
