Up to six hot swappable option slots allow the flexibility to configure what you need, when you need it. Options include an additional PSU, giving maximum protection and a comprehensive range of video processing options, including SD and HD, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC hot swappable encoders and re-encoders.

SD MPEG-2 EN8100 Encoder and Re-Encoder
The EN8100 brings a high level of encoding performance allowing operators to add additional channels in their existing transmission bandwidth. As well as rack space and power savings, the replacement of existing deployed systems with an EN8100 based system allows operators to add one extra channel in six or save one RF channel in five without loss in picture quality.
SD MPEG-4 AVC EN8130 Encoder and Re-Encoder
The EN8130 is Ericsson's latest generation of SD MPEG-4 AVC encoder delivering a 15 percent improvement over the previous generation. This allows operators to add one extra channel in six or save one RF channel in five without loss in picture quality.
HD MPEG-2 EN8180 Encoder and Re-Encoder
The EN8180 option module is a radical new design delivering up to a 30 percent saving over the previous generation of HD MPEG-2 encoders. The EN8180's RDO (Rate Distortion Optimization) engine extracts the maximum efficiency possible from the MPEG-2 specification. This efficiency gain coupled with Reflex™ Statistical Multiplexing by Ericsson allows operators to get more HDTV channels into their transmission bandwidth than any other solution.
HD MPEG-4 AVC EN7190 Encoder and Re-Encoder
The EN7190 delivers a unique balance between density and compression efficiency. Available in both encoder and re-encoder variants, the EN7190 delivers a 15 percent saving over the previous generation of HD MPEG-4 AVC encoders.
