Anne Lise Kjaer - Ethical Business and Female Power

Anne Lise Kjaer predicts in Ericsson 2020 Shaping Ideas that in the future, the most successful companies will need to embrace females in their organizations. She describes the typical 21st century cooperation as less hierarchical, led in a more empathetic way and with an increased focus on ethics.

Extract from Anne Lise Kjaer on Ethical Business and Female Power

Anne Lise Kjaer: Anne Lise Kjaer

Anne Lise Kjaer: Working with the future is really interesting because in fact, the future is just not somewhere you go to. You create the future. I'm not a trend spotter, in fact I'm more what you call a future narrator. I enable people to really create the future and tell a very interesting story about where we are heading for tomorrow. Anne Lise Kjaer thinks, first of all, the way we used to do business will take on a new meaning. Women won't bother to try to get in to a male ruled organization. They will just start their own company because it's much easier. Because if you go in to an old fashion, last century organization which was very left brained, you really won't have a chance in the future. You have to embrace left brain and right brain thinking. So really the new company structure will be a whole brain structure where you welcome the creative class, empathic leadership, co-creation. A man would never ask what you think we should do. A woman quite comfortably do that because she embraces the people she works with. They don't work for her, they work with her. And actually, quite recently I made a global scan on girls and young women by 2020. And we scanned across the world. We looked at Asia, we looked at Arab regions. We looked at Africa, America and also Europe. What we saw they all had in common was that they all wanted to see a woman for inspiration for where they were heading in the future according to Anne Lise Kjaer. So basically, empathic leadership, female empowerment is where the world is already heading. The empathic leader of 2020, and we already see them, is the leader that facilitates, educates, inspires. And all of that in an ethical package. This is the key ingredients in the 21st century corporation. It doesn't necessarily have to be a woman that leads the organization but we'll see more and more women showing the way ahead because it comes natural to them to be the empathic multitasking leader.
