How much is enough?

Mobile broadband will inevitably increase data traffic and place demands on network capacity. As an operator, you must stay ahead of traffic growth to remain successful and profitable.

Although you might expect that young mobile users downloading music and video clips would account for a disproportionate share of data traffic, studies indicate that traffic volumes for most of these users are on par with those of mobile professionals. There will naturally be bandwidth hogs in both groups, but solutions exist to manage this.

The important lesson is that although usage patterns may vary, average data traffic may well be roughly equal between young users and mobile professionals and that the volume will increase over time. As speed and ease of access increase, all user groups will simply use mobile broadband for more demanding tasks.
