TV/Media-Centric Full Service Broadband
The Ericsson approach to networks is to establish a Full Service Broadband Architecture that enables delivery of any service, to any device, anywhere. It is open, standardized and it emphasizes the converged qualities. This is exactly what the Individual TV Experience needs as it foundation, and this is exactly what Ericsson's strategic portfolio is developed for. A complete portfolio: • Fixed access nodes that support a wide range of access technologies, including various DSL solutions, point-to-point Ethernet over fiber, CAT 5/6 and GPON (alone or in combination for deep fiber access). • Mobile access nodes based on WCDMA/HSPA/LTE including unicast and MBMS broadcast capabilities. • Multi-access edge and mobile packet core nodes, versatile IP edge platforms for enhanced network efficiency and simplified operations. These nodes control functions that manage user policy profiles and QoS settings across the entire network. • Metro aggregation nodes that transport traffic between access and multi-access edge nodes while providing transport-based connectivity services on their own. • IMS opens the door to a range of offerings, including combined media and communication services and (long-term) session portability between fixed and mobile devices. Ericsson IMS is one system, independent of access.
