SDS 4.2 is now available

Here are the main new additions in SDS 4.2:

  • Support for creation of IMS client-server IPTV applications. The delivery provides an IPTV emulator based on IAP 2.0 that can be used to develop and test e-2-e IPTV client-server applications.
  • Integration of SailFin and update of target server functions to fully support the latest released version of JSR289 SailFin AS and verified with Oracle JSR 289 AS (OCCAS 4.0).
  • Enhanced SDS IJCU JavaME device client solution. It is now based on the released 1.0 version of JSR 281 API, includes a JSR-180 based SIP-Stack, and provides a Presence/GLM enabler that is Pre-JSR 325 "like" (subset).

The SDS 4.2 release integrates and supports the latest version of Open Source Glassfish/SailFin JavaEE/SIP server and enhances support for JME device client solutions.

What is SDS?
SDS is the only fully comprehensive tool for development and end-to-end testing of both the client and server side of new convergent all-IP (IMS) applications. SDS contains a standards-based IMS network simulator with communication services (CoSe) emulators. SDS supports clients and devices for Mobile, Fixed Broadband, and WLAN access. It uses Java community common practices and de-facto standards and provides high-level APIs to hide the network and terminal device complexity from the designer.

SDS runs on a PC, is based on the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and Wireless Toolkit (WTK).

What can SDS be used for?
With the SDS 4.2, developers can use the high-level IMS device APIs as defined in
JSR 281 and under definition in JSR 325 to control and access advanced capabilities such as Presence and Group Management (PGM), Voice over IP (VoIP), Push-to-Talk (PTT), IMS-M and Combinational (CS Voice + PS sessions).

SDS includes an IMS core network emulator and can also be configured as a JavaEE/SIP server execution environment for live user or for market IMS service trials. SDS is verified with Ericsson’s IMS system offering and is released in sync with new Ericsson IMS system releases.

You will now also have access to SDS mail support from your registered e-mail address. Remember to always check for answers in the FAQ before sending questions to: sds.support@ericsson.com
