Mobility in the workplace lets enterprise employees be more efficient and available. Ericsson offers a wide range of business applications that help companies make their offices truly mobile.

Ericsson boasts an installed base of 100,000 enterprise customers, representing a considerable business potential. We have extensive experience of the enterprise market and know where it's heading, what the needs are and where the opportunities lie. And Ericsson is the market leader in GSM/WCDMA with 40 % of the market share.

The enterprise market is still a voice centric market, making it a major revenue stream for operators. Another business opportunity for operators is to offer mobile data services to enterprises, in addition to voice, to create loyalty and reduce churn.

Larger and medium sized companies generally meet their telecommunication needs by purchasing a PBX (private branch exchange) system and using operators primarily as bearers of traffic. Ericsson?s MD110 Convergence Communication System for large enterprises and BusinessPhone for medium sized companies, together with Solidus eCare, a highly flexible contact center application suite, all have open interfaces for building applications.

Small enterprises may not have their own equipment but want, or need, PBX functionality as a service. Mobile operators can break into the lucrative enterprise market by offering voice and data services to this segment. Ericsson's Wireless Enterprise Networked Solution (WENS) helps developers to also break into this market.

Although existing system technology allows high-speed data transmission and multi-media services, it is mobile applications that enable enterprises to take advantage of these technologies. Ericsson Mobility World provides enterprises with applications that can be integrated as mobile data solutions. These include such data services as MMS, video calls, interactive messaging and positioning services.

The Ericsson Mobility World Developer Program helps developers create, test and sell their applications to operators and enterprises. Developers who join the program receive the technical, business and sales support they need to transform their ideas into reality.
