Findmap locates success with Ericsson
|
|
FindMap, a mapping and mobile location services company, joined the Ericsson Mobility World Associate program two years ago. Since that time, they have taken advantage of the many services and resources that the program offers. Ericsson has benefited from the partnership as well, since FindMap is a cutting-edge company that works actively with customers to create applications that are compatible with Ericsson's handsets and network technologies.

FindMap uses detailed Australian content to display location information and give directions. These services allow the user to find what they need with a variety of search methods. Smart text searches handle generic terms such as "pub" as well as highly name-specific searches such as "McDonalds" for the best possible results at all times. Search options such as "Find Most Of" will show locations where the most of something can be found, giving users maximum choice. Results are formatted as text, images and maps, which can be displayed on a handset or shared with other users. FindMap creates applications that meet the following criteria:
FindMap's managing director, Alex McNaught, says: "We attended an Ericsson Mobility World Conference in Darling Harbor, Sydney. I started talking to a journalist and that yielded two articles. These articles really helped to put us on the radar. I can't tell you how helpful they have been in generating interest."
Ericsson Mobility World has provided FindMap with valuable tools, such as business and technical support. And the Associate Program has kept FindMap informed about everything from important conferences and seminars in Australia, to emerging technologies. "We are always kept informed and we know what to expect from events because the Ericsson Mobility World Newsletter is so informative," says McNaught. "Every detail is shared with us: from the floor plan to who else will be there. This enables us to make a decision as to whether or not we should attend a particular event. Plus, we've had an easy time getting terminals from Ericsson Mobility World. And if we are ever in a jam, Ericsson Mobility World makes sure we get phones, so we have them when we need them."
