MPS SDK contains Java API, a test tool, examples and protocol information. You do not have to get into all details to get started.

Please follow the steps below to start building applications:

1. Read Positioning basics - Mobile Network Fundamentals, a five-minute course that is included in the MPS SDK package and that can be found on this web site under "Documentation".        
2. Download the MPS SDK package.        
3. Set up a Java environment, by installing for example SUN's J2SE SDK.      
4. Install and run the MPS Emulator according to the MPS Emulator User's Guide, supplied with MPS SDK.        
5. Install and run the Example Application according to the Example Application Programmer's Guide, supplied with MPS SDK.        
6. Start experimenting by modifying the Example Application source code.

If you would like to adjust the network used by the MPS Emulator to an area of your choice, do the following:

1. Read the MPS Emulator User's Guide, and pay special attention to the section: "Altering Celldata.txt and Routfile.txt by using MPC Map Tool".       
2. Download the MPC Map Tool.        
3. Run setup.exe in the MPC Map Tool folder, and follow the instructions.       
4. Read the document supplied with the MPC Map Tool. You find this document using the Help function of the program.
