Ericsson Global
Testimonial: Imane September 2009
Meet Imane, Team Leader HR Contact Center, joined Ericsson in May 2006

Base: Rijen, Netherlands.

My sister used to work for Ericsson and was always very enthusiastic about it. This is one reason why I decided to send in my application for a vacancy at Ericsson. Now I have been working for Ericsson for more than 3 years already!

The greatest challenge in my work is to keep up with all the changes and to make sure to be aware of all the opportunities. There are a lot of opportunities within Ericsson but you have to take initiative yourself.

The HR Contact Center is a part of the HR Shared Service Center where we support a lot of Ericsson companies with HR related issues. Working in a multinational environment is one of the things I really like about Ericsson. There are about 130 people from various nationalities working in the Shared Service Center. You can learn a lot from each other and it is also fun having all these people with different backgrounds in your team!

Working for a telecom company was not a conscious decision for me. In my previous job I worked as supervisor at a customer service department for an internet/phone provider. This job was no longer challenging for me and I wanted to find a new job within my field (I have a Human Resource Bachelor degree) and I wanted to work in a multinational environment. I didn’t know that much about telecom, but that has made it even more interesting and challenging for me to work for Ericsson.

Where will I be in 5 years? As I just started my new role as Team Leader the HR Contact Center. The aim is to expand the current HR Contact Center scope to support and give service to more companies. What I like in my job is that I have the possibility to develop my management skills as well as develop further within the HR field. I like both directions equally and I'm very focused on developing my skills!
