Minako's diary from the future

3:00 pm
I added the information about Susano’s necklace to my Memory Shrine tonight, so if he gets lost again, I won’t be too worried. It was so nice to look at the videos of Susano as a kitten – as well as the videos and stories of my own children when they were young! I like having a quiet moment with my memories…I’ve had more than enough excitement lately!

11:00 am

The Community Center has found Susano for me! They said that they could find out his location from the little necklace he wears – I don’t understand how as I never use technology, but oh, I’m so happy to have the little one home! He doesn’t seem to have missed me as much…he looks very proud from his little adventure yesterday.

12:00 am
Oh no! As I opened the door for my walk this morning, my little cat Susano slipped out! He has not come home yet, and I am worried that he is too old to be out there on his own. Ryoko said to ask the Community Center for help, but what can they do, I wonder? Oh, I just know poor Susano must be hungry without his fresh fish treat!

9:00 am

I heard back from Dr. Makino later yesterday evening, after he got my body volume and blood pressure from the bathtub sensors. He said I was perfectly healthy! I know it is true, because I can move better than I did a few years ago, but my children never believe me. They always want me to have a screen in my home, but I tell them that the walk to the Community Center does me good. I shall walk there now.

Ryoko brought the “doctor” over this afternoon in that convenient bag she has. He kept reminding me that I have to take my medicine, but I don’t forget anymore, not with my token necklace. He is really up in Sapporo, but I forget that when I meet him – I see him on the screen, but it seems like he’s really in my room!

12:00 am

It is not as nice today, but I still had no trouble getting to the market to buy fresh fish. Oh, to think of that time when I slipped and fell on my way home! My necklace alerted my nearest neighbor that I needed help so I was not hurt, but it was very embarrassing! I have learned to walk more carefully since then, but I am happy that I can still go out without being nervous.

5:30 pm

I went to the Community Center to talk to my daughter on the mainland and she said the weather was not as nice there. On my walk over to the center, my token necklace reminded me it’s time for my weekly check-in with my doctor, so I made an appointment to see him tomorrow.

9:00 am
What a lovely day! The morning sun is just lighting up the East China Sea and there’s a slight breeze coming from Naha port. I wonder if the weather is as lovely in Tokyo as it is here. I’ll probably go down to the Community Center later to call my children and ask – as long as this beautiful weather holds! I have no desire to get drenched in the rain again.

Sunday, Feb 15, 8:00

I forgot to check the latest weather report before going out and arrived at the Community Center absolutely drenched! How horrible! The nice people at the center should I should check with a doctor to make sure I don't get ill from walking in the cold rain, but I feel too embrassed. After this nice warm cup of tea, I think going to bed early would be perfect.
