Strowger principle patented. Strowger Automatic Telephone Co. founded. Telegrafverket starts manufacture telephones and switchboards.
1892
First desk telephone introduced.
1893
Over 11 000 telephones produced during the year.
1894
LM Ericsson's trademark was registered and its motif was the 1892 telephone.
1895
SAT laid the first underground cables in Stockholm.
1896
On April 27, LM Ericsson converted to joint stock company, Aktiebolaget LM Ericsson & Co. Share capital was SEK 1 million. SAT sets up AB Telefonfabriken.
1897
LM Ericsson's first foreign manufacturing operation established in St Petersburg.
1898
LM Ericsson Shop Union founded. Ericsson opens UK sales office.
1899
The construction of a new factory begun in St Petersburg.
1900
Sales passed SEK 4 million and 50 000 telephones were produced during the year. The company had around 1,000 employees and Lars Magnus Ericsson resigns as Managing Director. He was succeeded by Axel Bostrom. LM Ericsson was active in Sweden, Nordic countries, UK, USA, Germany, The Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa, China, Asia/Oceania.
1901
The new St Petersburg factory opens and LM Ericsson considers relocation of its headquarters to Russia. LM Ericsson takes over SAT's AB Telefonfabriken. Lars Magnus Ericsson resigns as Chairman. First experimental European automatic exchange built by Strowger in Berlin.
1902
US sales office established in New York. Office employees granted a fortnight annual holiday.
1903
Lars Magnus Ericsson retired from the board of LM Ericsson. Joint LM Ericsson/SAT Swedish patent for central-battery system. British LM Ericsson Manufacturing Co. LTD (half-owned) established at Beeston, UK.
1904
A site for a factory for LM Ericsson Telephone Manufacturing Co. was purchased in Buffalo, N.Y., USA.
1905
Union between Sweden and Norway dissolved. LM Ericsson, with SAT and Marcus Wallenberg, acquires first operating concession: Emperesa de Telefonos Ericsson S. A., Mexeric, in Mexico. Strowger receives US Patent 638249.
