Workpackage 1 - Project Planning
The aims of this workpackage are the planning of the processes and the products of the project. The processes of the project will be managed by the project Board of Management which will be appointed at the first Transnational Project Meeting after the approval of the project.
Workpackage 2 - Mobile Learning Development Guide
The first product in this context is the development of a Mobile Learning Development Guide for the use of mainstream institutions to enable them to introduce mobile learning. This will be a hands-on, how-to-do-it guide for course development for mobile learning so as to produce a comfortable study environment for students engaged in mobile learning.
Workpackage 3 - Mobile Learning Academic Administration Kit
The output of this workpackage will be a hands-on, how to do it kit for mainstream institutions for setting up a mobile learning administrative communication system for all, or groups, of their students.
Workpackage 4 - Production of 20 academic course guides
Each partner will produce 4 of these academic guides during the lifetime of the project, two in Year 1 and two in Year 2. The guides will be scientifically designed for use on PDAs, smartphones and mobile phones and will provide students with mobile learning academic content for study on their mobile devices.
Workpackage 5 - Production Of 10 Full Modules For Use As Mainstream Courseware
These courses will be developed from the curricula of the institutions concerned with the intention that the mobile learning version will exist side by side with both face-to-face and elearning versions, if these are available, and will provide further study options for the students who, in accordance with their circumstances will have a choice between the three different versions of the courses.
Workpackage 6 - Teaching of 20 academic course guides in mainstream education and training
The 20 academic course guides developed will be to provide guidance and assistance to students enrolled in the partner institutions and will be developed for the curricula of these institutions.
Workpackage 7 - Teaching of 10 full modules with real students in real education/training contexts
For the incorporation of mobile learning into mainstream education and training it is essential that full course modules should be developed and studied by real students in real study situations.
Workpackage 8 - The Book of the Project and holding of International conference on Mobile Learning
It is intended that the Book of the Project should be published during the life of the project with the title Incorporating mobile learning into mainstream education and training. It is planned that the conference for this project will be held in September 2007 and will feature presentations from each of the partners on their achievements in bringing mobile learning into the mainstream.
Workpackage 9 - Valorisation / Dissemination Plan
The main aim of this work-package will be to ensure the quality of the products developed and processes used during the project.
