Anders Gratorp is currently Manager of Product Management and Marketing within the GSM Pro product unit, which is a component of New and Special Business Operations within Ericsson’s Operators and Service Providers business segment. Since joining Ericsson in 1990, he has also worked as a Product Manager and Manager of Market and Sales Support for private mobile radio. Anders Gratorp holds an MSc in electronic engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.
Patrik Nilsson works as a Global Product Manager at Ericsson Mobile Communications in Lund, Sweden. He joined Ericsson in 1992 as a member of the Product Research team within the Product Management unit. In 1995, he became the Manager of Product Research in Lund. He holds an MSc in computer science and engineering from the Lund Institute of Technology.
Tore Smedman is currently Manager of Product Management for GSM Pro. He joined Ericsson-GE Mobile Communications in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 1991, where he worked as a competitor analyst in the Land Mobile Radio division. Later, while still in Lynchburg, he became the Project Manager of international customer projects. In 1994, he transferred to Ericsson Radio Systems AB, in Kista, Sweden, to work as Product Manager of EDACS Europe, and in 1996 he was appointed as Senior Area Manager of Market Support USA (cellular systems, American standards). He holds a BSc in electrical and computer engineering from Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York, and a combined MSc/MBA in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Anders Waesterlid joined Ericsson in 1984 after completing an MSEE from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts. In his most recent assignments at Ericsson he has served as System Manager for new switching platforms, Manager of the AXE development environment, and Software Program Manager at corporate headquarters. He is currently the Director of Global Software Development and Strategy for Ericsson’s Consumer Products segment.
Rune Johanson joined Ericsson in 1970 and has held numerous positions within the areas of design, product management, marketing, and sales. He was involved in early AXE design at Ellemtel and has worked as the AOM coordinator at the Philips-Ericsson Joint Venture in Saudi Arabia. Since 1983, he has worked for Ericsson Inc., in the USA, as Manager of the AOM product line, as Vice President of Product Development in Richardson, Texas, and as Vice President of Downbanded Cellular in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is currently Vice President and General Manager of the DWOS Product Unit in RTP, North Carolina. He holds a degree in electronics from Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, Sweden.
Mikael Nilsson, who joined Ericsson in 1988, is currently the Manager of Product Management for Digital Wireless Office Services. He previously worked with product management and marketing for customer premises equipment, which includes PBX, ACD and computer telephony. He holds an MSc in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.
Torbjörn Ward works for Ericsson in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina, where he is responsible for radio infrastructure development of the Digital Wireless Office System. He joined Ericsson in 1989 to work with TDMA/136 base station development. In 1992, he transferred to Ericsson in Montreal, Canada, where he worked with the design of TDMA/136 cellular systems and subsequently as a manager of radio-network system design. In 1996, he transferred to RTP and commenced working on what became the Digital Wireless Office System. He holds an MSc in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.
Anders Furuskär joined Ericsson in 1990, and has worked with radio-network algorithms at Ericsson Research since 1996. In his current capacity, he works as a task-force manager responsible for standardizing the packet-switching technologies used in GSM and TDMA/136. He holds an MSc in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
Jonas Näslund joined Ericsson Radio Systems’ Research department in 1991. In 1994, he moved to the Strategic Product Management department for GSM, where he currently works with GSM BTS development. In particular, has the overall responsibility for Edge in GSM systems. He holds a Masters of Science degree from Uppsala University, Sweden.
Håkan Olofsson is a Senior Specialist at Ericsson Research in the fields of user quality and system capacity for wireless systems. Since joining Ericsson in 1994, he has been involved in the design of radio network algorithms for a number of cellular standards, including GSM, TDMA/136 and WCDMA. Most recently, his work has focused on radio resource management for packet radio access. He holds an MSc in physics engineering from Uppsala University.
Tom Idermark works with architecture and system technology and leads Ericsson’s standardization group in the “Connected Alliance,” whose aim, together with Sun Microsystems and IBM, is to develop a standard for distributed service platforms. He also participates in work to standardize network support. Since joining Ericsson in 1984, he has also worked as a hardware designer, system engineer and specialist. He holds an MSc in physics engineering from the Linköping Institute of Technology, Linköping, Sweden.
Malte Lilliestråle, who joined Ericsson in 1974, is responsible for business development within the e-box project. He has held various positions within production, sales, product management, and design of various products for fixed and mobile communication networks. He holds an MSc from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Jesper Vasell is a consultant in the area of parallel and distributed systems and data communication. He has participated in several projects developing communication infrastructure. He is currently Vice Managing Director of Carlstedt Research & Technology AB in Göteborg, Sweden, a company he co-founded in 1994. His previous positions include serving as Assistant Professor of computer architecture at Chalmers University of Technology. He holds an MSc in electrical engineering and a PhD in computer engineering, both from Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg.
