Jan-Olof Andersson is the Director of the Networks Access Solution Program at Ericsson’s Multiservice Networks business division, which covers wireline and wireless fixed-access solutions for broadband and narrowband access. Since joining Ericsson in 1978, he has worked in the fields of transmission and access technologies in product management, business development, systems management and research and development. He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Chalmers Institute of Technology, Göteborg, and a Ph.D. in the theory of transmission from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.

Stefan Dobler completed a diploma thesis in electrical engineering from Erlangen University and started working at the research department of Philips Communications Industry in 1986. In 1995, he joined the speech processing group at Ericsson Eurolab Deutschland in Nürnberg. In 1996, he received a Ph.D. from Kiel University. He is currently a Senior Specialist and manager of a long-term project on speech recognition. His team develops voice control functionality for Ericsson phones—for example, the name dialing function in the Ericsson T18, T28 and R320 phones.

Lars Ekeroth joined GSN System Management at Ericsson in 1999, after having worked on a consultancy basis for Ericsson since 1989. Lars currently works with the standardization of the UMTS packet core network and leads Ericsson’s GSN standardization work—mainly within the 3GPP.

Magnus Grandin joined Ericsson Hewlett-Packard in 1997, but moved to his current position in 1998, where he serves as a Product Manager of Ericsson’s Fixed Wireless Access solutions. He holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

Magnus Hallenstål currently works at the system strategies unit of Ericsson’s Multiservice Networks business division, where he conducts network and system studies for next-generation network architectures. Before this, he was a product area manager for signaling. He joined Ericsson in 1989. Magnus holds an M.S. in engineering physics from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.

Per-Martin Hedström is the manager of Product and Systems Management for the Wireless Packet Platform—the platform used for GSNs. He has worked within the field of mobile Internet systems since 1995. He first joined Ericsson in 1975, but left the company, in 1986, to work with the Securitas group. Per-Martin rejoined Ericsson in 1995.

Nail Kavak joined Ericsson in 1999 as a data communication solutions architect. Prior to this, he worked at Telia and Telia Research developing core network design solutions for Telia’s IP and ATM backbone. He currently works with network-based IP-VPN and MPLS traffic engineering solutions. Nail received an M.S. in computer engineering from Linköping University and a technical licentiate degree in internetworking from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Peter Linder is the Director of Product Management for Ericsson’s copper-based access portfolio. He joined Ericsson in 1991 on a rotation program for system engineers. After finishing the program, in 1993, he worked as the product manger of interactive video solutions. Between 1995 and 1997, he was part of the management team that established the unit for broadband access, which formed the core for Ericsson’s current xDSL and LMDS product offerings. From 1998 to late 1999 he was responsible for product management for xDSL access products. In his current position, Peter is responsible for consolidating the product management functions for DMN access. He holds an M.S. in electrical engineering and an MBA in international business management, both from the Chalmers Institute of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden.

Ulf Thune, who joined Ericsson in 1965, is a Senior Expert and product manager of ENGINE solutions at Ericsson’s Multiservice Network business division. He has many years’ experience of working with ISDN, in particular, and of several other areas within telecommunications. He holds a Master of Science degree from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.

Pierre Zune currently works as the strategic product manager of RBS products for wideband radio networks. Since joining Ericsson, in 1992, he has, among other things, worked with the production of radio parts for TDMA and PDC, provided technical support for the production of the RBS 2000 for GSM, and served as a trouble-shooter (integration and verification, root-cause analysis) of TRX in the RBS 2000 for GSM. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Gävle.

Gert Öster works as a system architect for the AXD 301 ATM switch. Since joining Ericsson in 1975 he has worked with signaling, call control and network architectures. He is actively involved in standardization—Gert is currently the chairman of the control signaling working group in the ATM Forum. He holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden
