Mobile communications and health
Many people do not know how radio technology works and wonder if it is safe. Their main concerns regard the possible effects on health from radio waves that mobile phones and base stations transmit in order to communicate with each other.
WCDMA evolved-High-speed packet-data services
WCDMA Release 5 extends the WCDMA specification with a new downlink transport channel that enhances support for interactive, background, and to some extent, streaming services, yielding a considerable increase in capacity. It also reduces delay and provides peak data rates of up to 14 Mbit/s.
Combinational services-The pragmatic first step toward all-IP
Ericsson's approach to all-IP is to combine building blocks in a step-by-step fashion. Initially, one might consider current opportunities, such as adding push-totalk communications capabilities to, say, multiplayer games built around packetswitched technology.
Co-siting solutions
In a world with several mobile system standards and a shortage of attractive sites, operators must sometimes share sites. Ericsson supplies system equipment for all major mobile system standards and has extensive know-how and experience of providing co-siting solutions.
