Hans Beijner joined Ericsson in 1984 to work with radio base station design. He later served as senior specialist in radio circuit design. In 1996, he moved to Japan to serve as product manager and solution manager for various RAN products and in-building coverage solutions for 2G and 3G systems. He is currently senior product marketing and sales support manager for WCDMA radio capacity and coverage at WCDMA Product Management, Sales Support and Marketing.

Gregory E. Bottomley is currently a member of Ericsson Research, working in the area of wireless receiver algorithms. He joined Ericsson in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina in 1991. He has worked primarily with TDMA and CDMA reception, including equalization and interference suppression. In 1997, Greg was named one of Ericsson’s Inventors of the Year. He is a member of the IEEE and has served as Associate Editor and Editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. He holds a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University and a B.S. and M.S. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, all in electrical engineering.

Douglas Cairns is currently a member of Ericsson Research, working in the area of wireless receiver algorithms. He joined Ericsson in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina in 1998. He has worked in a number of areas, including speech recognition/enhancement, echo cancellation, transceiver design, and interference suppression. He is a senior member of IEEE and holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Duke University.

Stephen Carson joined Ericsson in 1998 to work as a business manager for Western Europe. He currently serves as product marketing manager within the GSM product management group at Ericsson’s Business Unit Access. His specialization is financial modeling. He drives the BU initiative to demonstrate customer value through calculating the total cost of ownership of radio access networks. Stephen holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Andrei Dulski, who joined Ericsson in 2001, currently serves as marketing manager at Business Unit Access where he is responsible for Ericsson’s mobile broadband offering. After having completed his master’s thesis at Ericsson he has held various marketing positions within the fixed broadband, next-generation networks, and IP business areas. He holds an M.S. in electronic engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.

Tracy Fulghum who joined Ericsson in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina in 1998, is a Consulting Engineer in research. The focus of his work is on wireless signal processing and algorithms. He holds a Ph.D. and B.S. in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Florida.

Christer Friberg worked briefly at Ericsson in 1984 before deciding to continue with his studies in 1985. Upon his return, he worked for a number of years with the development of new telecommunications platforms. In 1996, he moved to GSM, where he has since held positions in GSM radio access network (RAN) R&D, product marketing, and technical sales support. One of his current assignments is to position and explain the development of the RAN element of Ericsson’s Expander solutions. He holds an M.S. in electronic engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.

Christian Gehrmann, is senior specialist in security architectures and protocols. In 1997 he joined Ericsson Research in Stockholm to work with issues related to protocols and ad hoc network security. In 2000 he moved to the research unit at Ericsson Mobile Platforms in Lund. At present he works with the integrity and cryptographic solutions of the mobile platform. He is also Ericsson’s representative in the Trusted Computing Group. He holds an M.S. in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in information theory, both from Lund University.

Hans Herbertsson joined Ericsson in 1985 to work with Microwave Communications. During his more than 20 years at Ericsson he has served in various roles, managing sales, marketing and business development with a focus on transport solutions in fixed broadband and mobile networks. At present, he directs the business growth team at Mobile Broadband Transmission, where together with a team of senior experts he strives to optimize and scale mobile transmission networks to cost-effectively support the introduction of HSDPA and mobile broadband.

Ali S. Khayrallah joined Ericsson in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, in 1995. He is currently director of research, managing a group focused on the lower layers of current and future cellular systems. Previously, he was assistant professor in the electrical engineering department at the University of Delaware. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the American University of Beirut. He received the Ericsson Inventor of the Year award in 2001.

Anders Kilegran joined Ericsson in 1988 as a digital hardware designer working with Ericsson’s first GSM base station, RBS 200. Through the years, he has worked with system and subsystem design of second-generation GSM base stations (RBS 2202), and as system architect of third-generation GSM base stations (RBS 2206). In his current capacity, as senior specialist in RBS system architecture, he led the pre-study for RBS 2x16 and served as system manager for the subsequent feasibility phase. Anders holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.

Per Lindell joined Ericsson in 2000 to work with product management for PDC systems. In late 2002 he transferred to EMP in Lund. He holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Lund Institute of Technology and a Marketing Management degree from EFL in Lund. Per has more than 15 years’ experience of product management from the telecommunications, computer and security industries. He currently serves as platform product manager for Ericsson’s U300/U350/U360 family of mobile platforms, introducing HSDPA into mass-
market solutions.

Johan Norrby joined Ericsson in 1996 to work with AMPS/D-AMPS technical sales support. Between 2000 and 2002 he managed the GSM technical sales unit in Sweden, supporting the Americas region at the time when operators were moving to GSM. He has also recently served as sales director at BU Access. He currently works as strategic product manager of radio base stations for GSM. Johan holds an M.S. in electrical engineering and a B.S. in business administration and economics from Lund University, Sweden.

Magnus Sundelin joined Ericsson Research in 1994 to work with research and the evolution of optical wavelength division multi-plexing systems. In 1997 he joined the Access Technology Research group where he was involved in research on WCDMA, advanced antennas, WLAN and various HSPA testbed activities. Since 2005 he has worked with WCDMA system design at BU Access. Magnus holds a Licentiate degree in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.

Y.-P. Eric Wang joined Ericsson Research in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, in 1995. Since 1997, the focus of his work has been on WCDMA physical layer and baseband algorithms, including cell search, interference cancellation, MIMO, and advanced receivers. He also has a supporting role for WCDMA standardizations. In 2003, he was named Senior Specialist in the area of CDMA Architecture, Physical Layer. He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. Eric holds a M.S. and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. from National Taiwan University.
