Per Ola Andersson SDP is a telecom and IT veteran who has held several managerial and key positions in the industry. He is currently responsible for the GSM transport product portfolio at Ericsson. In the past he has, among other things, managed the Digital Equipment consulting unit in Sweden and Ericsson's IP development group in Bekeley, California. He has extensive experience of IP, the internet, and mobile technologies.

Håkan Asp joined Ericsson in 1995 to work with BSC system design for GSM. He later also served as system manager for several BSC and BSS projects. At the end of 2003, he was put in charge of BSS infrastructure. In this capacity, one of his main areas of focus is on solutions for optimizing the access transport network. Håkan holds an M.S. in applied physics and electrical engineering from the Linköping Institute of Technology (Sweden).

Joe Baker joined Ericsson in 2005 as Director of Business Development. In this capacity, he has developed strategies for breaking into the Tier-1 fixed operator market in North America. His chief accomplishment has been the identification of growth sectors, including GPON, which has become a critical component of Ericsson's overall fixed broadband product portfolio. Joe has a B.S. from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and an MBA from DePaul University (Chicago, IL, USA).

Aldo Bolle joined Ericsson in 1997 to work with product and system management of Ericsson's microwave systems. From 1999 to 2001 he served as manager of the customer solution department, and later as a solution manager for EMEA customers. At present, he serves as strategic product manager for Ericsson's Transmission and Transport portfolio. Before joining Ericsson, Aldo worked with SDH, ATM and network strategies at Telia Network Services. He holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in engineering physics from Chalmers University of Technology (Göteborg, Sweden).

Torbjörn Cagenius, who joined Ericsson in 1990, is a Senior Specialist in applied broadband network technologies. During the 1990s, he worked with development, product management, and marketing of fiber-optic components and subsystems. Since 1999, his focus has been on research projects for fiber optics in RBS applications, multi-access architectures seen from a fixed broadband network perspective, and most recently, IMS-based services in the context of residential networks. Torbjörn holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden).

Charilaos Christopoulos joined Ericsson Research in 1995 to work with multimedia technologies (image/video coding, computer graphics, multimedia databases, mobile-augmented reality, IMS technologies and strategies, VoIP, mobile TV and IPTV). He served five years as head of MediaLab and one year as head of Service Management and Control. He currently serves as a business developer of service management and control solutions at BU Multimedia. In this capacity, he drives service creation, control, and execution strategies. Charilaos has a B.S. in physics from Greece, an M.S. in software engineering from the UK, and a Ph.D. in image and video processing from Belgium. He also holds 15 patents in the area of multimedia communication.

Jan Gabrielsson is an Expert in IT software architecture. He joined Ericsson Research in 1997 to work with applications. From there he moved to service-layer technology strategies with a focus on software technologies. At present, he spends most of his time working with SDP initiatives at BU Multimedia, driving SDP architecture issues and software product strategies. He holds an M.S. in computer science from the University of Uppsala (Sweden).

Colin Goodwin is Strategic Product Marketing Manager specializing in fixed broadband at Ericsson Australia. He joined Ericsson in 2001 and has become a regular contributor to the activities of the telecommunications associations and industry activities in Australia and New Zealand. He is also an Ericsson representative on the FTTH Council Europe, and a founding director and current Vice President of the FTTH Council Asia-Pacific. Colin holds an M.S. in electrical and electronic engineering from Monash University (Melbourne, Australia).

Martin Hatas is product owner of Ericsson's FTTx product portfolio. He is also responsible for Ericsson's product strategy in this area. He joined Ericsson in 1989, and has since worked in Sweden and internationally. Over the years he has held numerous responsibilities and positions ranging from product development and project management to business and product management. From 2002 onward his primary focus has been on wireline broadband access and fiber-based solutions. Martin holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Czech Technical University of Prague (Czech Republic).

Martien Huysmans joined Ericsson in 1989 to work with intelligent networks. He was involved, for example, in the development of the service control point (SCP on AXE-10) and of key IN applications, such as FreePhone/Premium rate and the enterprise VPN application, and in the first release of the Parlay gateway and Parlay gateway simulator. He also spent several years in research projects developing context-aware applications and mobility for business communication. He currently works to evolve existing value-added services (VAS) towards IMS. His main focus is on service composition, and component-based and service-oriented architectures. In 2006, he was designated Expert of service layer solutions, application creation environment. Martien has an M.S. in mathematics from the Technical Univer- sity of Eindhoven (Holland).

Bernt Johansson received a Master of Science degree from the Linköping Institute of Technology in 1975. He joined Ericsson in 1979 to work with the development of airborne electronic systems, in particular, in the area of counter measurements and display systems for the JAS39 Gripen. In 1991 he moved to mobile systems where he is currently an Expert in RBS systems architecture. He recently participated in the development of the HSDPA test bed, and at present he is working with system architec-ture design and serves as technical coordinator for the LTE test bed.

Andy Johnston is an Expert in service layer architecture and Chief Architect at BU Multimedia. His focus is on operator solutions engineering and delivery, currently in the service delivery platform domain. He has worked internationally for Ericsson since 1995. Ulf Olsson joined Ericsson in 1996, working mainly with architecture issues concerning packet-based systems such as packet PDC, GPRS, UMTS packet and the CDMA2000 packet core network. At present, as a member of the R&D Systems Management group, his professional focus is on service layer and IMS issues. Peter Seybolt drives the development of RBS local switching and direct transfer of payload from RBSs to M-MGWs at Strategic Product Management GSM BSS at PA Radio. He joined Ericsson in 1991, initially working with integration and verification in the area of SDH development. In 1993 he became the main project manager of the SDXC 4/4 project. From 1997 to 2001 he served as technical manager in the account teams for sub-Sahara Africa, and was responsible for the technical solutions for the rollout of Greenfield networks in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Nigeria. While serving in this capacity, he observed the need for RBS local switching, an idea he has pursued since. In 2004 he was assigned with the task of creating the AXIP prototype, which led to the development of the Abis Optimization and Abis over IP features in Ericsson's Packet Abis solution. Peter is a Lieutenant in the submarine force of the Royal Swedish Navy where he served for six years prior to joining Ericsson.

Patrik Sivermalm started his career at Ericsson in the 1990s. Throughout the years, the emphasis of his work has been on improving efficiency and starting up new focus areas. In 2005, he approached the task of complementing the scope of Ericsson's RBS Site solutions from a strategic product-management point of view. At present, he works with Ericsson's newly released portfolio of Radio Site solutions. He is also a member of a strategic focus group at the corporate level. Patrik holds a degree in telecommunications engineering and a diploma in business communications.

Tomas Sundin joined Ericsson in 2001 to work at Ericsson Research. His initial focus was on the evaluation of baseband algorithms for UTRA TDD systems. In 2004 he began working with baseband software design and architecture in the HSDPA and LTE test bed projects. Tomas holds an M.S. in engineering physics and a Ph.D. in signal processing from Uppsala University (Sweden).
