Our concept
When there is a human need to communicate Ericsson is there.

Ericsson Response works in close cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the United Nation's different relief organizations. Ericsson aim to improve the relief work by bringing skilled staff and additional technology to be used in the relief operations.

Ericsson Response will only participate in Humanitarian relief operations. Disaster relief operations classified as military or peacekeeping operations will not be a part of the Ericsson Response Program. Humanitarian disaster are normally classified as Natural Disasters or Complex Disasters:

Natural Disasters: when a disaster has caused serious casualties or destruction and it is unclear whether sufficient resources are available nationally to meet immediate needs, when the disaster has caused international concern irrespective of the resources available, or where there are catastrophic consequences to the environment. ´

Complex Emergencies: when there is the sudden onset or change in intensity of a complex emergency, which is likely to result in a change in the humanitarian coordination structure in-country, particularly when there are inadequate resources in-situ to support the new coordination mechanism.

Procedure

When an international request for help is sent out from UN or IFRC to Ericsson, we will respond with help and send out staff and/or equipment if available. The response time is anything between 2 hours to 1 week after the request. If help is urgently needed Ericsson will try to find staff locally.
