SO1 Nature, scope, and effectiveness of any programs and practices that assess and manage the impacts of operations on communities, including entering, operating, and exiting. Our Environmental Management System (MS) looks at local environmental issues for each site location where we operate. 

Layoffs, closure of plants and redundancies are handled in accordance with national legislation and the Ericsson values.

SO2 Percentage and total number of business units analyzed for risks related to corruption. All Market Units and all Business Units conduct risk assessments, including corruption.  Operational risk management is included in the strategy process, the annual target setting and within ongoing operations by transaction.  See AR P 39-40.

A program was rolled out during 2007 to raise awareness about corruption and to
enhance Ericsson's ability to detect corruption.
This included extensive training during 2007.  See S03 below and CR Report P 22.

SO3 Percentage of employees trained in organization's anti-corruption policies and procedures. All employees must regularly review the Code of Business Ethics and, by signing a form as art of the recruitment routine and at regular intervals, acknowledge that they have understood its principals. The Code includes corruption.

99.9% of all employees acknowledged the Code of Business Ethics during our last periodic update, which was in 2006. Specific training on corruption was provided in 2007. 37 000 employees took part in training during 2007.  The goal is 100% so this will continue during 2008.

Our engagement includes a wide range of activities, including bridging the digital divide, telecom regulations, spectrum allocation, and other regulatory issues.
