Welcome to the Corporate Responsibility (CR) and Sustainability website at Ericsson. For us, Sustainability is about generating long-term social, environmental and economic value to all our stakeholders. CR is about minimizing non-financial risks to the business and our stakeholders through effective controls and dialogues. Here you will find information on our vision and approach, activities, and performance.
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight global targets for reducing extreme poverty and hunger by half and improving education, health, gender equality and environmental sustainability by 2015. Ericsson is committed to supporting the MDGs, as well as to social and economic development through access to affordable telecommunications.
Millennium Villages Projects
The Millennium Villages initiative is one example of how our commitment is being realized in order to enable rural African communities to lift themselves out of extreme poverty with the help of mobile
connectivity.
Ericsson is actively providing solutions and services to help our customers to reduce their energy and carbon impacts. We are also actively exploring innovative telecommunication solutions which support a low carbon society.
Significant reductions in CO2 emissions will require large scale transformative changes. Information and Communication Technologies can offset global CO2 emissions by 15% by 2020, and is crucial to creating a low-carbon 21st century infrastructure.A five-step-plan for a low carbon urban development
Communication Solutions for Low Carbon Cities
The Every Human Has Rights campaign is a global initiative that calls on citizens to uphold the goals of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in their daily lives and hold governments accountable for the same.
At times of crisis, communication is vital. The Ericsson Response volunteer initiative deploys employees and technologies to support the UN and other humanitarian organizations.
