Every 30 seconds an African child dies of malaria. In sub Saharan Africa, 31% of the population is chronically undernourished, 1 in 16 women die in pregnancy or childbirth and 63% of all people lack access to basic sanitation facilities.
The partnership is designed to bring mobile communication and the Internet to approximately 400,000 people, described by the UN as “the poorest of the poor”.
