EMPLOYEES SPEAK UP

Ericsson actively engages its employees, and it is important that they understand and share the value of our corporate responsibility programs and initiatives and also provide us with feedback on how we are addressing our corporate responsibility.

We carried out a materiality poll, in which our employees demonstrated a good overall understanding of Ericsson’s corporate responsibility priorities. Just under 4000 employees answered the voluntary poll, and 30 percent of the total votes for the top five issues identified climate change as a material issue. Our employees indicated that they would like more communications to be focused on this issue.

The Top five issues identified were:

  • Company energy use and climate change.
  • Communication for all.
  • Renewable energy sources  for telecommunications.
  • Human rights.
  • Ericsson Response

Employee poll: top five sustainability issues

Ericsson’s annual employee engagement survey receives an average response rate of 90 percent. Such substantial participation gives us an inclusive and reliable way to measure employee opinions worldwide. We gain insights into the success of internal initiatives and priorities for the market. It also lays the groundwork for action plans, guiding the improvements we make.

The survey gauges employee opinions from many perspectives including the Human Capital Index, the Empowerment Index and the Leadership Index, all generic indicators in the industry. Ericsson scores highly against these external benchmarks.

For the 1,100 employees who completed our annual poll to rank the top five issues Ericsson should address, the digital divide was also a key priority.
