Learning and Performance Data

In a fast-changing business environment, it is essential for Ericsson that its employees have the right competence to develop and share their knowledge, skills and expertise. Changing technologies, business conditions and markets require a continuous learning process to acquire the skills, attitudes, values and competencies required.

We formulate competency development plans for employees using Individual Performance Management (IPM) discussions, These discussions both reflect business strategies and identify necessary skills and training requirements. Employees are involved in defining their own development in the context of their individual work roles. IPM follow-ups are conducted at least twice yearly, and involve the line manager and the employee.

Ericsson's employees can search for and sign up for training through the global learning intranet portal and are provided with customized e-learning courses on specific topics related to compliance.  In 2007 more than 20,000 courses were accessed.
