Mobile future in focus in Vegas

With mobile life as the key theme at CTIA Wireless 2009 in Las Vegas, April 1-3, Ericsson will be on hand to present the latest in mobile broadband and converged multimedia communications to help operators generate new revenues.

Nils Rix, Vice President for Strategy & Marketing at Ericsson North America, says mobile life is about enriching the end-user experience in everyday life with customizable, easy-to-use technology – whenever you need it, however you want it and wherever you want to use it.

“At Ericsson, mobile life includes communication, mobility, entertainment, education, e-health, mobile office, business and social networking, e-commerce and the connected home,” Rix says. “Mobile life, or more specifically converged mobile broadband, becomes an agent for personal expression, presence and success in private and business life. This requires attractive and customizable devices, applications and services connected through capable and reliable networks, with a strong multimedia focus to enhance and make profitable the end-user experience.”

Visitors to Ericsson’s booth will see how mobile broadband and multimedia solutions can provide new, sustainable revenue streams. Ericsson will share its views and know-how on new technologies and business opportunities – focusing on revenue growth and cost-effective networks – as well as ways of optimizing investments from network ownership to outsourced services.

Ericsson will demonstrate the latest technologies and solutions representing the daily life of a consumer at home, outdoors or at work. “We will show how we envision life in 2020 through a virtual environment developed to help our customers explore how communication might evolve,” Rix says.

Areas such as Ericsson’s next-generation mobile broadband, evolved packet core, HSPA Evolution, LTE, the latest on IPTV, social media and mobile advertising will be demonstrated and discussed.

“Those visiting our booth will take away a broad perspective of what there is to come in the near future and what is next in wireless and converged technologies and services that will help increase efficiency, traffic and revenues for our customers,” Rix says. “Ericsson is the preferred business partner that delivers leading business solutions, professional services and technology that help operators to evolve and grow their businesses and move into that future.”

The largest wireless show in North America, CTIA Wireless is scheduled to host more than 1000 companies and 40,000 professionals from 125 countries.
