As of December 31, 2008, Ericsson had 728,333 shareholders registered at Euroclear Sweden AB (former VPC AB) (the Swedish Securities Register Center), of which 1469 holders with a US address.¨
According to information provided by Citibank, there were 329,803,670 ADSs outstanding as of December 31, 2008, and 5192 registered holders of such ADSs.A significant number of the ADSs are held of record by banks, brokers and/or nominees for the accounts of their customers. As of December 31, 2008, banks, brokers and/or nominees held ADSs on behalf of 361,915 accounts.
According to information known at year-end 2008, almost 80 percent of our Class A and Class B shares were owned by institutions, Swedish and international. Our major shareholders do not have different voting rights than other shareholders holding the same classes of shares.
As far as we know, the Company is not directly or indirectly owned or controlled by another corporation, by any foreign government or by any other natural or legal person(s) severally or jointly.
