





Ericsson awarded by Telekom Srbija operator with Class 5 Softswitch contract

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has signed a contract with Telekom Srbija to be supplier of Class 5 Softswitch. Ericsson will also supply a comprehensive range of professional services to ensure a successful network implementation and integration.
The decision to adopt Class 5 Softswitch reflects Telekom Srbija's Strategy, which involves IP-based communications combining the best of the fixed and internet/PC worlds. The contract also sees Ericsson providing professional services such as installation, integration, consultancy, testing and support.
Drasko Petrovic, General Manager, Telekom Srbija, says: "By introducing Ericsson Class 5 Softswitch into the Telekom Srbija network, we will be able to offer advanced multimedia services and content over broadband networks using IP technology. Class 5 is one of the key elements in our migration to an all-IP network, with convergence in both services and network. Also, our customers will benefit significantly from a truly converged experience for both fixed and mobile. We are happy to continue our strong cooperation with Ericsson on this".
