Vestberg is also a member of the Board of Directors of Sony Ericsson as well as ST-Ericsson. He joined Ericsson in 1991 and has a broad international experience through assignments for more than ten years in three continents.
Vestberg was appointed Chief Financial Officer on October 25, 2007. He was appointed Executive Vice President in 2005. He became Senior Vice President and head of business unit Global Services in 2003. During his years of management, the services business grew threefold with good profitability.
From 2002 to 2003 he served as President of Ericsson in Mexico, which is one of Ericsson’s largest markets in terms of sales. He also served as account executive for America Movil as well as head of the wireline market in the Americas.
In 2000 to 2002, Vestberg was Chief Financial Officer for Ericsson in North America and Ericsson’s controller for the Americas. Between 1998 and 2000, he was CFO of Ericsson in Brazil.
Vestberg was born in Hudiksvall, Sweden, in June,1965. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Uppsala, Sweden, in 1991.
