In Japan's highly competitive and advanced telecoms market, perfection is everything. J-Phone wanted fault-free, rapid integration of its complex multi-vendor network. Ericsson's world-leading Multi-Vendor Integration (MVI) service provided the solution.
Serving around 12 million subscribers, J-Phone is a major telecoms player in Japan and a serious rival to the country´s other operators DoCoMo, KDDI, and TU-KA. With such a high reputation, J-Phone´s decision to expand its network into 3G services meant there was much at stake.To add to the pressure, the time schedule for integration was extremely tight. In addition all eyes in the telecoms world were watching - Japan is a major market for 3G - and 3G is also Ericsson´s key to the future.
J-Phone appointed Ericsson to coordinate and lead the multi-vendor integration after Ericsson demonstrated the energy, commitment and the ability needed to successfully take on the role of Prime Integrator.
