Polkomtel S.A., the third largest mobile operator in Central Europe, has always delivered outstanding service to its subscribers - now it aims to become even more efficient. Polkomtel is taking control of its end-to-end service quality by implementing an 'Umbrella Management System' across its entire network.


In February 2003, Polkomtel signed an agreement with Ericsson for the implementation of a high-level management system to cover its multi-vendor network sub-systems. Based on 'Netcool' developed by Micromuse, Ericsson's Service Level Manager solution will provide integrated end-to-end fault management and event correlation across Polkomtel's entire network.

Robert Zejdel, Technical Department Director, Polkomtel, believes the project will deliver significant benefits for Polkomtel: "With increasing competition in the market, customer expectations - especially in the business segment - are evolving towards SLA style service warranties. I belive the 'Umbrella Management System' implementation and full integration with Polkomtel's existing infrastructure will enable us to constantly improve our service quality and technical efficiency."
