Vodafone Iceland needed to ensure that it had an innovative IPTV service, capable of standing up to the competition in the marketplace, at the same time as generating growth. The delivery of an IPTV service, provides Vodafone Iceland with the ability to retain DSL customers, while transforming the end user experience from a passive, one way stream of channels, into an interactive, two way personalized TV service.

The county of Crawford is in northwestern Pennsylvania, USA. Crawford County is one of the largest counties, territorially, in Pennsylvania. Anytime government employees must leave their offices to attend meetings at another location, it costs both time and money.
Video conferencing which was too complicated to use, or to learn, or took too long to set up, was never going to be widely used. The decision was made to seek a solution that would ensure the video conferencing system is a true asset to the county. Based on cost, quality, and ease-of-use, Crawford County chose the Ericsson ViPr™. The benefits of the solution were readily apparent, such as the real-time aspects of the system, the video feed did not drop out and there were no lags in transmission.

Ahead of its move to a 3G network, growing operator Telemig wanted to enhance employee performance with a structured competence plan aligned to its business objectives. Earlier Telemig invested in training courses on an ad hoc basis but it did not have a training plan which fitted with the expansion of its network. Ericsson consultants performed an analysis of the Business Situation and identified the competence gaps. The analysis resulted in a Learning Solution that met the individual needs of the employees and the specific characteristics of the network.

The telecommunications market in Uganda has seen huge growth recently and in the last four years, Celtel, Uganda, has seen its subscriber numbers climb steadily. As power is un-reliable or non-existent in some areas, around 50 percent of radio base stations in Uganda run continuously on diesel generators. Usually, these sites are driven by two diesel generators which operate alternately, but this can be costly in terms of diesel and site visits for re-fuelling and maintenance. Celtel recognized that a hybrid power solution could significantly reduce costs and increase efficiency and approached Ericsson to develop a hybrid energy solution for diesel and batteries.
