- Mexico offers competitive advantages to foreign investment, as well as human talent competence and quality
- Event aimed at providing support to emerging economies such as Mexico
Under the G20 Summit (Group of 20 industrialized and emerging countries) framework, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) was invited to participate in the B20 (Business 20) Summit, an initiative in which business leaders have been engaged as corporate global citizens, working closely with other stakeholders to address seven of the most urgent global challenges.
Humberto Rezende, Global Service Center Mexico (GSC) Director at Ericsson, represented the company as part of the group of private leaders invited to the event.
“The G20 Summit and particularly the work of the B20 Summit provide us with a valuable opportunity to share our experiences and actions that we are implementing together with our customers to develop business aimed at helping to solve priority concerns in emerging economies, such as Mexico, and insert themselves in an increasingly competitive global economy,” Rezende said.
Some of the topics discussed by Rezende with Summit attendees included the competitive advantages that Mexico offers to foreign investment and sharing Ericsson’s own experiences (such as the opening of the GSC), as well as the international perception of the competence and quality of Mexico’s human talent.
Earlier this year, Ericsson launched its new GSC in Mexico City, with an investment of USD $20 million. Now, more than 1,500 experienced Mexican workers have been hired, with a plan for an additional 5,000 professionals by 2015. The Center provides remote services with innovative technological systems to telecom networks operations for international operators.
