Ericsson today announced the appointment of Ann Emilson as the new president and country manager for the company’s Singapore operations, effective immediately. Emilson succeeds Claes Odman, who will return to Sweden to take on a new role in Ericsson’s Product Area Service Layer.
As head of Ericsson Singapore, Emilson is also responsible for all of Ericsson’s business with Singapore operators and their regional activities across the Asia-Pacific region.
Emilson brings with her more than 16 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. In her most recent role, she was responsible for sales in Western Europe for Ericsson’s Access business, based in Sweden.
Jan Signell, President of Ericsson South East Asia, says that Claes Odman had made a significant contribution in building Ericsson’s presence in Singapore over the past 5 years.
“Under his leadership, Ericsson Singapore had accomplished many milestones, including one of the best 3G networks in the world with SingTel. He has also been instrumental in setting up our regional hosting centre in Singapore and has led many initiatives in service layer and systems integration, setting the pace for the rest of South East Asia.
“I am confident that Ann will build on this strong legacy and ensure that Ericsson Singapore will continue to be a strong partner to its customers,” he adds.
Swedish-born Emilson joined Ericsson in 1989, and has since gained multi-faceted knowledge and experience in the telecommunications business, beginning with GSM product development and management in the early 1990’s, to international sales, marketing and management.
Ann has a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Linköping Institute of Technology, Sweden.
