[01 December 2006] Ericsson is gearing up its Malaysian operations to strengthen its market leadership in the country’s telecommunication industry. The company aims to capture more growth opportunities in the local telecommunications sector. It has identified Broadband, Managed Services and 2G/3G/HSPA related businesses as its focus areas for growth.

[29 November 2006] PT Indosat (Indosat) has selected Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) to deliver a 3G/WCDMA network in Indonesia. This agreement includes providing a higher data rates and enhance end-user experience through High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA).

[15 November 2006] Ericsson has been chosen by AIS to expand its existing GSM/EDGE network in Bangkok in a contract worth USD 110 million. The expansion will allow AIS to increase both its network coverage and capacity.

[15 November 2006] Ericsson announced today its agreement with Vietnamese operator Saigon Postel Telecommunication Company (SPT) to build a nationwide IMS-based multimedia network in Vietnam, including Ericsson's Telephony Softswitch.

[15 November 2006] PT Telekomunikasi Selular Indonesia (Telkomsel) has awarded Ericsson an expanded area of responsibility for managed services in Indonesia. Ericsson will broaden its comprehensive services offering in the country to managing the operations of Telkomsel's multivendor 3G/WCDMA network.

[9 November 2006] Ericsson has signed a major deal with greenfield operator Warid Telecom International LLC to bring mobile communications to more than 60 million people in Bangladesh. The four-year network expansion and managed services contract involves supplying, rolling out and operating the operator’s GSM/GPRS network in the capital city, Dhaka, which has the highest number of mobile users in the country.

[6 November 2006] Ericsson Malaysia today announces that it has reached an agreement with Marconi Malaysia to acquire the latter's telecommunications business in the country. This is effective from November 1, 2006 with the integration of Marconi Malaysia's business into Ericsson Malaysia's operations. 

[21 Sept 2006] Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has been awarded the contract to expand the GSM/GPRS network for TM International Bangladesh (TMIB) in Dhaka and Chittagong areas. The expansion exercise will involve deployment of new sites, allowing TMIB to increase its network coverage and capacity in the respective areas.

[21 Sept 2006] PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk (XL) has selected Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) to build its 3G/WCDMA network in Indonesia. It will provide higher data rates and enhance the end-user experience through High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA). Ericsson has also been chosen to supply its Mobile Softswitch Solution for nationwide deployment, as well as business consulting services.

[21 Sept 2006] Singapore's Changi General and Gleneagles Hospitals to implement Ericsson's Mobile Health Solution Singapore will become one of the first in this region to implement remote patient monitoring system using the Ericsson Mobile Health (EMH) solution in hospitals. The trial system will be deployed by Ericsson in Gleneagles Hospital and Changi General Hospital.

[11 Sept 2006] Ericsson today announced the opening of its representative office in Cambodia, reaffirming its long term commitment towards the country. With the opening of this office – Ericsson AB Representative Office Cambodia, Ericsson will be able to support the country’s efforts to grow and develop its telecommunications industry.

[22 Aug 2006] Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) has been selected by TOT Public Company Limited (TOT), Thailand’s leading fixed-line operator, to deliver its EDA solution to provide high performance broadband services to subscribers across the country.

[21 Aug 2006] Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) further strengthens its industry leadership in HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) or widely known as 3G-evolved (WCDMA) and Managed Services by signing a contract with MiTV Corporation Sdn Bhd (MiTV) to build, operate, manage and maintain its 3G/HSPA network.

[17 Aug 2006] Warid Telecom International LLC, Bangladesh Operation (Warid Telecom), a greenfield operator in Bangladesh, has awarded Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERICY) with a managed services contract to operate, manage and maintain the Core Network, Backbone Transmission and real-time charging/Value Added Services (VAS) of its nationwide GSM/GPRS network. The contract also covers Warid Telecom's Radio Network in the western part of the country covering Rajshahi, Khulna, and Barisal areas.

[17 Aug 2006] Ericsson has been selected by PT Telekomunikasi Selular Indonesia (Telkomsel) to provide its 3G/WCDMA network in Indonesia. Ericsson will, on a full turnkey basis, seamlessly upgrade Telkomsel's network with increased capacity, providing higher data rates and enhancing end-user experience through High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA).

[05 July 2006] Ericsson has signed a GSM network expansion contract with Viettel, the fastest growing mobile network operator in Vietnam, to extend its coverage in rural areas of Vietnam and increase its capacity in large metropolitan areas of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang.

[23 June 2006] Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY), will deliver an ultra-high speed fixed broadband trial network to SingTel.  Based on Ericsson’s EDA VDSL2 (Ethernet DSL Access Very-High-Bit Rate Digital Subscriber Line 2) broadband technology, the trial network will enable SingTel to experiment delivering ultra-high speed broadband services deployed over existing copper lines.

[21 June 2006] Malaysia's fastest growing mobile operator DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi) has awarded Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) a contract to expand its EDGE network and upgrade its core network nationwide covering all major cities and towns in the peninsula (except Klang Valley) as well as East Malaysia.

[21 June 2006] In an effort to provide greater reach and enhance its network coverage nationwide, Celcom Berhad in Malaysia has awarded a contract to Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) to expand, modernize and upgrade its GSM network to a new architecture. Covering the northern, eastern and central regions of the Malaysian peninsula, the project will be implemented over 12 months, beginning in early July.

[20 June 2006] Warid Telecom (Warid) has chosen Ericsson's real-time charging solution, as well as value added services solutions, to be deployed in its Bangladesh network.

[20 June 2006] Bayan Telecommunications, Inc. (BayanTel), has signed a frame agreement with Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) for the provision of  Ericsson's EDA solution to support high broadband subscriber growth in the Philippines.

[20 June 2006] Lao Telecom (LTC), the largest telecommunications service provider in Laos, has awarded a contract to Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) for the expansion of its GSM network in four provinces in the central region of the country.

[28 April 2006] Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) has successfully completed the turnkey project of designing and integrating a multi-operator In-Building Solution (IBS) at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand's new international airport.  The Ericsson IBS solution enables commuters and staff members of the airport, poised to be a major transportation hub in South East Asia, to enjoy advanced communications with seamless and high-quality coverage, as well as international roaming services.

[04 April 2006] Company amongst first in Asia to implement new technology.... Maxis Communications Berhad ("Maxis"), Malaysia's leading mobile operator, announces that it has fully integrated HSDPA ("High Speed Download Packet Access" or 3.5G) into its 3G network and is expected to launch HSDPA services later this year.

[14 March 2006] Maxis Communications Berhad ("Maxis") has awarded Ericsson with a contract to implement Ericsson's Telephony Softswitch solution as part of its ongoing fixed network modernisation effort. The contract includes the deployment of a new international gateway switch and upgrade of an existing switch, as well as the provision of operations and maintenance support for five years.

[16 Feb 2006] Ericsson has been chosen by Warid Telecommunications Pvt. Limited (Warid Telecom) to build a greenfield nationwide GSM/GPRS network in Bangladesh.  Under the contract, Ericsson will supply the complete core and transmission equipment for Warid’s network, which will be built on a layered architecture.    Ericsson will also be providing part of the radio network equipment.

[Feb 14 2006] Ericsson is confident that it is well positioned to take advantage of the region's growing Managed Services market while retaining its leadership position. This was revealed at a media briefing in Barcelona today by the President of Ericsson South East Asia, Jan Signell.

[14 Feb 2006] GrameenPhone Ltd. (GrameenPhone), the largest telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh, has awarded a contract to Ericsson to expand its GSM/EDGE network and upgrade it to a new architecture.  Valued at around USD150 million to be implemented over a period of two years, the contract includes core and radio network equipment, as well as a comprehensive range of telecommunication services.

[14 Feb 2006] Sun Cellular, the fastest growing nationwide GSM operator in the Philippines, has selected Ericsson's Mobile Softswitch solution and Base Station Subsystem (BSS) equipment for its GSM expansion in the Visayas and Mindanao region.

[08 Feb 2006] Ericsson today announced the establishment of a full-fledged company in Bangladesh, reaffirming its long term commitment towards the country and the growth of its telecommunications industry.  With the incorporation of the company, LM Ericsson Bangladesh Ltd (Ericsson Bangladesh), Ericsson is confident that it would be able to support its customers in a more efficient and cost-effective way.

[29 Jan 2006] Ericsson today announced that its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Karl-Henrik Sundström, will be visiting Bangladesh from 7th to the 9th February 2006.

[05 Jan 2006] Indonesian mobile operator, Natrindo Telepon Selular (NTS), has awarded Ericsson a managed services contract to build, operate and manage its 2G/3G network in Jakarta and its surrounding areas. Under the agreement, which covers a period of two years, Ericsson will supply both 2G and 3G radio network equipment and undertake the turnkey implementation of NTS’ 2G/3G network. Implementation will begin immediately.
