Ericsson to demonstrate high capacity broadband and TV solutions at CommunicAsia 2008, Singapore

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) will showcase a complete range of broadband solutions to deliver its connectivity to any broadband service, anywhere and on any device. Ericsson will unveil the latest development in broadband which allows the provisioning of advanced services such as IPTV, entertainment and other on-demand services. Visitors will be able to experience the technologies and learn about the service capabilities at Ericsson’s stand,located in Hall 4 at Esplanade Singapore Expo.

 

Broadband networks are key to the delivery of multimedia services; rich services require a large amount of fixed and mobile capacity in the networks. Ericsson’s portfolio offers operators complete broadband solutions, regardless of their network technology or topology. It encompasses leading solutions for fixed and mobile broadband, transport, core networks and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), enabling an efficient network evolution to an all-IP operation. Ericsson offers as well a wide range of Telecom services, including systems integration, support services, network deployment, design and optimization, required to support the growing demand for broadband capacity and multimedia services among operators the worlds over.


Penetration of broadband in South East Asia is less than 5% and this region is expected to be the first global market where wireless broadband connection overtakes fixed broadband. To sustain growth momentum over the next five years, operators in these markets are investing heavily in expanding network coverage into the emerging markets where the potential has yet to be tapped, an area where Ericsson will showcase it cost efficient solutions to deliver an affordable broadband services.

TV is in the future of virtually every progressive service providers, yet it's a real challenge to deliver TV to both a large home screen and a four-inch screen on a handheld device. At CommunicAsia, Ericsson will demonstrate its end-to-end Internet Protocol Television offering (IPTV) to allow operators and service providers a glimpse at the future of the individual television experience. Ericsson’s TV solution includes TANDBERG Television’s new and exciting solutions designed to enable customers to deliver next generation and personalized entertainment offerings, with its state-of-the-art product portfolio, TANDBERG Television stand is located at hall 3.

 

Ericsson will demonstrate its products, solutions, applications and services at the Singapore Expo during the 3 days of the event.
