Digital Power Forum 2007 - San Francisco
This focused three-day international conference will serve an audience of decision makers who are interested in learning about and contributing to the latest practical advancements related to the use of digital power control techniques in electronic systems and in power converters, and digital energy management and power management in enterprise-level installations and related digital equipment. Link to Digital Power Forum web site Plenary Session IMonday, September 10th, 10:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m
"Qualification and Verification Considerations for Power Supplies Containing Digital Technologies" Pär Ingvarsson
Designers of power supplies are facing an infinite number of configurations to consider during qualification and verification. This might result in an atmosphere of uncertainty, leading to questions about affects on process control, verification and qualification of digital power supplies. This paper will address these questions from the perspective of a manufacturer of BMPS products with the objective to increase the level of awareness among both OEMs and vendors of digital control ICs. Practical Benefits of PMBus and Digital Control I Tuesday, September 10th, 3:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m
"Intelligent Energy Management for Improved Efficiency" Per-Johan Wiberg and Torbjörn Holmberg
This new case-study raises the bar to consider a power system and also extend the scope to include digital power management. The study uses an Intermediate Bus Architecture, comprised of a 48V DC/DC converter plus multiple POL regulators. All of them based on digital control solutions and equipped with interfaces that allow for configuration and monitoring via PMBus. It is demonstrated how these capabilities can enable intelligent energy management resulting in improved efficiency.

PCIM China 2007
An independent event within electronica&ProductronicaChina, organised by Munich Exhibitions. Like PCIM Europe, which takes place annually in Nuremberg in Germany, the PCIM event in China is an international meeting ground for specialists in power electronics and its applications in drive technologies and power quality. The event offers a chance to see the latest developments in power electronics components and systems. View PCIM web site

"Digital Control Techniques enabling Power Density Improvements and Power Management Capabilities" Per-Johan Wiberg
Digital control techniques combined with clever mechanical communication interfaces can allow both superior power density and integration of power management capabilities into a dc/dc power module. This will provide real performance improvements for OEM system designers and can be achieved without cost or performance penalties.

APEC 2007
As The Premier Event in Applied Power Electronics™, APEC focuses on the practical and applied aspects of the power electronics business. This is not just a designer's conference, APEC has something of interest for anyone involved in power electronics. View APEC web site
Wednesday, February 28, 2:00 - 5:30 PM North Ballroom B "Implications of Digital Control and Management for a High Performance Isolated DC-DC Converter - a Case Study" Mikael Appelberg
The implementation of digital control substantially reduces the space required compared to an identical analogue control solution. This is illustrated by the implementation of a digital controller in an existing intermediate bus converter design. The result is a product with the same power density as an intermediate bus converter, all the functionality of a fully regulated converter and configurability of a digital design.

Embedded World 2007
The embedded world in Nuremberg is the top event when it comes to innovative embedded technologies. Whether hardware, software, tools or services, international companies show embedded experts the latest trends on some 23,000 square meter of display space. Top-flight international speakers contribute with numerous presentations, workshops and hands-on sessions. Hall 12, stand 12-463 Trends in Powering Embedded Systems Jointly with MEV Elektronik Service GMBH, Patrick Le Fèvre, Marketing Director at Ericsson Power Modules, will present the latest products and technologies deployed to power embedded systems, and trends. Ericsson Power Modules will also exhibit the most recent products released in conjunction with this event.
