As an open solution, the Enterprise Mobility Gateway makes Ericsson's One Phone concept available to any customer. It is available directly from Ericsson or through channel partners.
Magnus Leonhardt, Ericsson's portfolio manager for Mobility Solutions, says: "Mobility Gateway is an important cornerstone in mobile unified communications for businesses. It is entirely SIP based, which means it can be openly integrated with any type of IP PBX, and it brings all relevant host PBX services to mobile devices.
"Many larger enterprises have different PBXs, all over the world. With Mobility Gateway, enterprises can implement a common mobile strategy and the same solution worldwide, regardless of the existing infrastructure."
Companies can save in many ways. Its unique intelligent and dynamic feature - mobile least-cost routing - can give cost savings of up to 50 percent by always taking the best route in all situations.
When corporate mobile telephony becomes as integrated as fixed telephony, using Ericsson patented Mobile Extension service, companies can eliminate fixed phones and gain better control over costs. Mobile call costs will be reduced by minimizing the need to return calls as employees become more available. With a unified mobility strategy, enterprises will be able to negotiate enterprise-wide deals with their service providers.
Urban Gillström, head of Ericsson's enterprise business, says: "The new Enterprise Mobility Gateway gives enterprises a unique way to mobilize their resources by integrating the mobile workforce. It offers companies a fast, cost-effective and easy-to-use way to take control of their mobile communications."
For the end user, Enterprise Mobility Gateway simplifies the communication environment, reduces mobile costs, improves cost predictability and increases customer satisfaction through access to a wide range of services.
Leonhardt says: "Having mobile access to services such as directory search, conference calling, call forwarding and presence information, communication becomes more convenient and corporate users save a lot of time."
