Ericsson strengthens consulting service
Ericsson’s Network Strategy Consulting service offers operators tailor-made and cost-effective solutions for an increasingly complex communication environment where networks must constantly adapt to change.

Networks are growing in complexity, and that means there are increased demands for operators to upgrade and transform their networks quickly, says Henrik Hansen, principal consultant for the Network Strategy Consulting Global Competence Center launched in Australia last month.

Ericsson’s Network Strategy Consulting service unlocks what Hansen calls the “Ericsson value” – the combination of services and cutting-edge technology, which make Ericsson’s service unique on the market.

“Through our consulting services, we can help operators adapt their networks to ever-changing technology by offering them network strategy solutions that are aligned with their business objectives and goals,” Hansen says.

The service is based on a flexible concept that is tailored to fit an operator’s specific needs, while also addressing business issues such as costs, investments, lead-times, processes and tools and answering technical concerns such as technologies and architecture.

“As operators look to find efficient ways to get the latest services to consumers, we see that radio waves or fibers in the ground are no longer as important,” Hansen says. “To give operators the best advice on how to get services to consumers, we are using resources from all parts of Ericsson.”

And that’s where the Global Competence Center comes in. Hansen describes it as a pool of high-skilled telecom professionals ready to help drive Ericsson’s consulting initiatives and reinforcing consulting competence worldwide.

“The purpose of the Center is to build and recruit competence, and to develop it globally and share previously-acquired knowledge with other members of our consulting teams,” says Mats Andrén, manager Product Management and Marketing for BA Network Strategy & Operational Consulting.

Operators will benefit from the network strategy consulting service by ensuring the capacity, quality and functionality of their networks, Andrén says. That will enable them to deliver the latest services to their consumers in an efficient way.

Ericsson’s consulting services also mean improvements for the consumer.
Increasing focus and providing value to consumers means that operators will need fewer partners who can take on a larger responsibility to manage major transitions and create innovative communications solutions. Improvements in the operator’s networks will mean consumers will experience improved performance, faster service launches and fewer network bottlenecks.

Andrén adds that network strategy is not the only strategy consulting service offered by Ericsson. Other areas include security, business, competence and operational consulting. There are more than 200 consultants working within all consulting areas, helping operators improve their operational efficiency by keeping overall business strategies in mind, focusing resources and effectively establishing operator requirements before delivery.
