





The global information and communications technology (ICT) industry is set to gather for Broadband World Forum Europe on September 7-9. With the theme "Delivering the Promise", the event will focus on convergence, interoperability, and the transformation of carrier networks.

The event will be held in Paris, France and will feature workshops, panel discussions, and an array of general sessions.
Hans Vestberg, Ericsson’s Chief Financial Officer, and appointed CEO to be, will be one of the keynote speakers on the first day. Elaine Weidman, vice president of sustainability and corporate responsibility, will be the chair of a panel called “Leveraging Broadband to Create a More Sustainable Planet.”
More than 250 speakers will share their views on the evolution of broadband and a variety of related topics.
In a message promoting the forum, the conference chair, Vivek Badrinath, from the operator Orange, says:
“Convergence challenges, new broadband possibilities for mass market and enterprise services, more sustainable developments through creative technical enablers are some key topics we need to share and discuss with experts from network technology and information systems.
“The Broadband World Forum Europe 2009 represents a major collaborative opportunity for our industry. This three-day meeting is an opportunity for executives from both carriers and manufacturers to debate, learn and connect with each other. The technology exhibition will complete our visions with the most recent products and technologies existing in the marketplace today.”
