Operators are subject to increasing demands to meet legal and regulatory requirements. Ericsson supports its customers to meet these challenges cost effectively.

Eyecatcher
Meeting market needs:

To investigate and prosecute serious crimes, governments and regulators are placing numerous requirements on operators regarding lawful interception of subscriber data, and retention of traffic and administrative data.

Operators must also allow number portability when subscribers change network operators.

Offering summary:

Ericsson’s Regulatory Requirements Compliance offering covers three key areas:

  • Lawful Interception

International and national laws require the lawful intercept of telecommunications in public networks. The Lawful Interception solution allows network operators to fulfill these legal obligations while still offering a secure service to the community.

  • Data Retention

The Automatic Data Retention solution offers a cost-effective way to collect, store and control data generated by telecom and internet services. It complies with the European Union directive on the mandatory retention of data. As a cost-effective data retention solution with carrier-grade availability and top-level security, the Automatic Data Retention Solution is designed to meet data retention requirements worldwide.

  • Number Portability

Governments have drafted telecom licenses for new players in order to liberalize the market while maintaining a controlled environment. Authorities usually require all operators to allow users to maintain their telephone number even when changing providers. This regulation is called Number Portability and gives new players on the market a chance to break in to the business. The Unified Number Portability solution is a standards-compliant fixed and mobile solution that meets regulatory requirements.
