WWRF Visions and Research Challenges for Future Wireless World: Considering the user in the wireless world. (pdf)

Abstract:
The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) constantly strives to keep its conferences and publications highly relevant to industry and the overall community of communication engineers. ComSoc rightfully wants to be viewed as an integral part of the communication industry's intellectual property value chain. One approach toward this goal is to cooperate with organizations and fora that perform pre-standardization work and, in the current world scenario, lead the development of technologies for the next decade. ComSoc is determined to provide an environment for debate of critical technological issues as well as publication of technical results that eventually will result in future standards that will make our industry progress and profit. This feature topic, dedicated to the visionary work being carried at the Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF), is a concrete step in this novel partnership direction.
