ADSL2plus provides three-times better performance than traditional classic ADSL technology. A novel attribute of ADSL2plus is that it can be configured for different applications, such as maximum performance to the user (Annex A), maximum performance from the user (Annex M) or maximum reach (Annex L). ADSL2plus is typically implemented in IP-DSLAMs.
VDSL2
VDSL2 could be described as a merger of ADSL2plus and VDSL1, optimized for fiber deep-access network applications, that is, where the DSL loops are shortened to allow for higher performance. The maximum performance for symmetrical applications is 100Mbps, and 150Mbps to the user and 50Mbps to the network for asymmetrical.
