Ericsson at 3GSM World Congress 2004

Ericsson would like to welcome you to our press briefing on February 25 at 10.00. The press briefing will be hosted by President and CEO Carl-Henric Svanberg.

In addition, the following executives will participate in the briefing: Gunilla Fransson, Vice President, Service Layer; Håkan Eriksson, Vice President & General Manager, Research & Development; Sandeep Chennakeshu, President, Ericsson Mobile Platforms; and Katsumi Ihara, President of Sony Ericsson.

The briefing takes place at the Hotel Carlton Intercontinental, Boulevard de la Croisette in Salon Méditerranée. Registration from 09:30.

Ericsson keynote on "Driving growth"
On February 25 at 08:40, Carl-Henric Svanberg will participate as a keynote speaker in "Driving growth - The role of global vendors and business partners in promoting the industry" at the Congress.

On February 23 at 09:25, Torbjörn Possne, Vice President, Sales WCDMA, is taking part in "3GSM roll-out case studies" at the Technology Summit. He will talk about "Business Experience and Network Requirements in Launching WCDMA/3GSM and EDGE worldwide." The event will be held in the Grand Auditorium, level 1 in the Palais des Festivals.

In addition, Ericsson will speak at the Mobile Billing Event at the Palais des Festivals on February 23, at 12:30. Jaco Fourie, Director of Technology and Business Strategy, Charging Solutions, Ericsson, and Paul Meredith, CTO, Mobile Telephone Networks (MTN), Cameroon, will present "Convergent real-time charging for services beyond voice."


Ericsson's strong presence at the Palais des Festivals
During the week, we will be present with a stand in Hall 1, A15, where visitors will be able to see demonstrations of Video Telephony, Video Gateway, Mobile Enterprise in your pocket, Ericsson Instant Talk, Mobile Media Applications such as M-USE and Mobile hits. Located close to our stand is the Ericsson Internet Café, which offers visitors free Internet access.

In the Interoperability area, located right next to the Ericsson Internet café, Hall 1, section C, we will show the advances that have been made with 3G. We have invited the leading handset vendors, to participate in a demonstration of interoperability on a live WCDMA network. Video telephony and streaming of video clips will be demonstrated live.

Our outdoor area offers a demonstration of our EDGE and WCDMA footprint, as well as transmission solutions for mobile networks.

Events with partners
February 24, 08:00-17:45 we will take part in a Developer Forum hosted by the Parlay Group. The forum will take place at the Novotel Hotel, 25 Avenue Beausejour. Kurt Sillén, Vice President, Ericsson Mobility World will participate in the expert's panel.

February 25 at 16:30, we will take part in the MMS Interoperable Solutions Showcase, hosted by the GSM Association. The MMS Showcase will take place in the Debussy Foyer on level 1 of the congress center. Attendees can experience demonstrations of the successful global interoperability of MMS.
