In 2020, 70% of the world's population will live in cities – so it is vital for us to consider more sustainable solutions for urban development.
The transportation sector is one area where we can make significant reductions in CO2. Broadband technologies, for example, can reduce the need for people to travel, while creating new efficiencies for traffic flow and in the transport sector.
While broadband can offer alternatives to travel, the major change must be in people's attitude and behavior.
