Ericsson HD voice

HD voice is a common name for all technologies that improve the speech quality for mobile and fixed telephone calls to the next level.

Benefits

Today’s phone calls only transfer sounds in a spectrum band from 300 to 3400 Hz. HD voice calls transfer a much wider band, which gives a more natural sound, a better understanding and easy voice recognition. HD voice in combination with active noise cancellation technologies makes it possible to make phone calls in noisy environments where normal calls are simply not possible.

Ericsson has been pioneering HD voice for years. In early trials with operators it became clear that HD voice services are highly attractive for consumers. We have worked intensively with other industry players to build up an infrastructure and device eco system for HD voice. HD voice can be implemented in GSM, WCDMA, CDMA, LTE and fixed networks. Operators can use HD voice to secure and strengthen their voice revenues and retain and attract consumers.
