Ericsson Turkey is offering scholarship grants to qualified students. Ericsson Turkey Scholarship Crea Academy is a one-year program for senior undergraduate and/or 2nd year graduate students who work on their theses and are able to complete their education in one year. Crea Academy is intended to better prepare Turkish students to an increasingly global economy and independent world. The program aims to encourage students to develop a career in telecommunications area. Ericsson Crea Academy provides not only financial aid but also offers telecommunication trainings and career assistance. Selected students will have the opportunity to join Ericsson's workforce based on their performance during the Crea Academy Program.

Scope of the “Ericsson Crea Academy”

Ericsson Crea Academy will be awarded to 40 successful students each year starting from 2007 winter term. Each selected student will be granted 1,000YTL for each semester. Program will include technical and soft skill trainings that the student will attend and will be able to receive support from Ericsson team in their theses to complete their educations during the year. Crea Academy Program requires students to develop and present a project on IMS during the program.

At the end of Crea Academy Program, students are expected to do a Summer Internship at Ericsson Turkey which will last 2 months (July-August 2008). Upon their graduation and the end of summer internship period, they will be assessed for full time employment opportunities at Ericsson Turkey. Eligible students will be employed at different positions in the organization upon the assessments.


 

Admission Requirements
  • Application period: 1 - 26. October 2007
  • Being an undergraduate or a graduate student at Electrics, Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer, Industrial, Management Science, Mathematics, Physics engineering faculties of relevant universities
  • Being able to complete the undergraduate or graduate program in a year
  • Maximum age of 28 (candidates whose birth date are equal and/or later than 01.01.1979)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.2/4
  • Fluency in English (If you have a valid TOEFL score - minimum 213 for computer or 550 for paper-pencil, or TOEIC score - minimum 750, or IELTS score- minimum 6 , you are expected to submit on application. Furthermore, any other relevant exam result showing the proficiency level is also welcome.

Application Procedure

 

Students are expected to make their initial application via Yenibiris.com with an updated resume.

Following the completion of application on Yenibiriş.com, they are requested to submit all the mandatory documents and application forms directly to Ericsson Turkey, Human Resources, Ericsson, Büyükdere Cad Uso Center No: 61 Kat: 1 Maslak, Istanbul via post, cargo or courier.  Upon the receipt of each application, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to each candidate (please do not make any inquiries via phone). All materials must arrive to Ericsson; on latest 26 October 2007, 17:00.


A complete application must consist of the following documents;

  • Application form (please click here )
  • Official transcript from the university (Minimum GPA of 2.2/4 required)
  • A document from the Registrar of University showing student status (Öğrenci belgesi)
  • A copy of undergraduate diploma if you are a graduate student and/or a copy of a formal document provided by your university showing that you are a graduate (Öğrenci Çıkış belgesi)
  • One letter of reference from university in closed envelope and signed by the academician (please click here )
  • Cover letter explaining your academic background, previous internship and/or job experience and your motives to participate Ericsson Turkey Scholarship Program 
  • If available, English Proficiency Level Score (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS and/or any other formal exam result showing the applicants current level of English. If you have not such a score please note it in your application. If your application is evaluated as positive, you will be asked to take TOEIC exam which will be organized by Ericsson Turkey)
  • If possible, an official paper taken from the registrar or your academic advisor which indicates the courses you will take until you graduate from your university and your expected graduation date from school.
  • 1 recent photograph (which has been taken within the last 6 months)

Please make sure that you have filled in all the blanks as you would for the final submission.  Materials should be in printed form, collated and paper-clipped or stapled for easy distribution.
Applicants have to submit all the listed documents on their applications. In case any of the documents is missing, the application will not be taken into consideration.

Questions & Answers

 

I am on my first year on my graduate program, could  I apply?

You should be able to finish your education in one year. Therefore if you have more than 2 terms to graduate from your school, you cannot apply.


I will graduate at the end of first semester, can I apply?

Yes. However, you cannot be employed in another organization while you are receiving the Scholarship. In addition, participation to summer internship program during June-August 2008 is mandatory.


I do not have TOEFL, TOEIC or any other English proficiency test score. What should I do?

You should note that on a separate paper and attach to your application documents. If your application is evaluated as positive, you will be asked to take TOEIC exam which will be organized by Ericsson Turkey.

 

Do I have to participate the internship program in summer?
Yes. Summer internship program attendance is a must for students who are eligible for Scholarship by Ericsson Turkey. Upon the completion of internship period, they will be assessed for full time employment.


Do I have to apply over yenibiris.com?

Yes. Applicants will be matched by their resumes on yenibiris.com and submitted application documents. You should apply over yenibiris.com with an updated resume by entering your TC. Identity number.


What kind of assessments are going to be made for employment opportunities?
Candidates will be assessed on their technical and soft competence by group interviews, case studies and/or presentations. Successful candidates will be offered full time positions at Ericsson Turkey.


Can I deliver my application materials by hand?

No. You should mail the materials to the address specified by cargo, courier or regular mail (Ericsson, Büyükdere Cad USO Center No: 61 Kat: 7 Maslak, İstanbul). Upon the receipt of the documents, candidates will be sent a confirmation mail to their e-mail addresses.


Can I apply again if I cannot receive the scholarship this term?

Yes, you can apply next year if you still meet the application requirements.


Can I apply again at my graduate study, if I receive the scholarship when I am a senior undergraduate?

No. One student can only receive the fund and participate the program once.


I am receiving fund/scholarship from another institution. Can I apply "Ericsson Crea Academy"?
Ericsson Crea Academy offers not only scholarship to students, but also training and development opportunities at Ericsson. If you are able to attend trainings/internship program, you can apply Ericsson Crea Academy while you are receiving funds from another institution(s).


Do I have to submit an official paper on my expected date of graduation and the courses I am going to take?

If possible, please attach a paper from your advisor or registrar office that states the expected date of graduation and the courses you will take until you finish your education. In addition, you will be asked to state these on your online applications through yenibiris.com.
