1. All teams must register for the challenge by emailing nextgenerationchallenge@ericsson.com by Friday, January 22nd 2010.
Team registration information should include:
- Team name
- Team members names
- Current university
- Current area of study
- Graduation date
2. Teams are limited to a maximum of 4 students.
3. Competing students must be current full-time students, pursuing either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in an engineering, information technology and/or telecommunications related field.
4. Each university must enter no more than 2 teams.
5. All registered team members must be available to participate in the 24 hour challenge that will commence at 17:00 (GMT) on Friday, February 12th 2010.
6. Each team must submit a powerpoint document not exceeding 20 slides in length. You may also include video as part of your presentation. Submissions are due by 17:00 (GMT) on Saturday, February 13th 2010.
7. Presentations received after the specified due date and time will not be accepted.
8. The top 10 shortlisted teams must be available to walk-through their communication strategy presentations via tele-conference with the Judging Panel during the period Tuesday, February 23rd to Thursday, February 25th 2010. Individual meetings will take place between the times of 15:00 and 18:00 (GMT).
9. The top 5 shortlisted teams must be available to travel to present their final presentation on Thursday, March 4th 2010; when the Awards Lunch and Ceremony will take place. The location will be within the UK and all travel expenses will be paid.
10.Submissions and final presentations will be judged based on a variety of factors that include the creativity and ingenuity of the business concept proposed, combined with the quality of technical innovation used to overcome the environmental and energy challenges being faced within the communicating world today. Ericsson reserves the right to make all final decisions.
11.Shortlisted teams that are chosen for the finals may be given instructions to contribute additional information as part of their presentations during the final event.
12.The Judging Panel will include Ericsson executives and independent industry experts.
13.Should your business concept be chosen, you must be available to travel to Stockholm. Competition winners must have a legal visa to travel to Sweden.
