Role: Service Implementation Manager
University: Wireless System – University of Bath
I’m a Service Implementation Manager working with Project Managers to deliver new technologies into the Three network and Operations. This involves co-ordinating technical teams and making sure operational input is part of the project’s requirements, as well as resource planning for project deployments. When I joined Ericsson, I was in the Service Management department, and I’ve since played an active role in day-to-day first-line support change control, post-incident investigation and project delivery. This has given me industrial experience while taking my ITIL certification – I’m now up to practitioner level.
Having successfully got my role soon after my graduate scheme finished, I was given the opportunity despite not having a great deal of experience in the service delivery area. My manager trusted that I’d do a good job, and I think this is partly thanks to the graduate scheme. It allowed me to move around the business, work with different teams, build my soft skills and increase both my knowledge and confidence. In fact, all the support the scheme gave me has enabled me to see my future career development more clearly.
