The scheme lasts approximately 18 months, and is made up of a variety of training methods – from presentations and on-the-job training to web-based learning. There are three phases, each lasting six months.
Phase 1 is designed to give you a broad knowledge of Ericsson and the telecommunications marketplace. You’ll get an insight into our business sectors and support functions, while at the same time completing both on and off-the-job training, including web-based training and video presentations. You’ll also begin your technical and professional training path.
The phase begins with a formal induction introducing you to your manager and department, and gives you an overview of the experience you can expect during your first six months. You’ll also attend a formal induction course welcoming you to the company.
Phase 2 consolidates the understanding you gained in Phase 1 and provides more in-depth knowledge and skills specific to individual roles through directed learning objectives and project involvement. A second technical training path will begin (if appropriate), where you’ll further consolidate what you learned in Phase 1.
Some departments run a rotation scheme. This will give you exposure to other areas within your department for broader knowledge and experience.
Phase 3 will build on everything you’ve gained in the first 12 months and include the final stages of your training. You’ll be introduced to self-driven learning as you complete your final graduate training phases.
The scheme is underpinned by regular performance reviews with your manager and a salary scheme designed to reward and recognise high performance.
Following completion of the scheme, you’ll have the opportunity to continue to drive your own career path. With members of senior management having joined as graduates, it really is possible for you to become a future Ericsson leader in the UK or overseas.
