Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC), the world's leading telecommunications supplier, today announced that the company's IMS offerings have completed interoperability testing with Camiant's policy control platform. Together, Ericsson's IMS offerings and Camiant's policy solution allow large wireless and cable operators to produce superior converged and multimedia experiences with a high level of quality of service for their customers that a best-effort network cannot always render.

IMS is designed to fill the gap between the existing traditional telecommunications technology and internet technology that increased bandwidth alone does not provide. This allows wireless and cable operators to offer new, innovative services that shareholders and end users are expecting.
